Hunter Gause is an American filmmaker living in New York City. The son of a personal stylist and a sculptor, Hunter’s work explores outsiderhood, especially themes of youth, labor, purpose, and neurodiversity. Hunter’s debut narrative short film, ALL THE WORDS ON THE PAGE, premiered in competition for Best U.S. Short at the 30th Palm Springs International ShortFest before screening at NewFilmmakers Los Angeles, Pendance Film Festival, and The Downtown Festival NYC, among other festivals. Hunter has also worked in the theater, assisting directors at New York Theatre Workshop, The Wooster Group, and Big Dance Theater. He is the founding executive producer of Occipital Filmworks, and his films have been featured in MovieMaker Magazine. He is currently in post-production on his sophomore short film, PENTIMENTO. Hunter is dyslexic.
