Hunter Gause is a New York City-based filmmaker originally from Colorado. His films riff on authenticity, expectations, and passion. Before turning to filmmaking, he worked as an assistant theater director at New York Theatre Workshop, The Wooster Group, and Big Dance Theater. A self-taught filmmaker, Hunter learned filmmaking by crewing on sets for production companies including Gummy Films and CBS.

His latest short film, Pentimento, premiered at the 34th Hamptons International Film Festival. His work has also screened at Palm Springs ShortFest, The Downtown Festival, NewFilmmakers LA, Roxy Cinema, and more. His debut short film, All the Words on the Page, premieres online this December. Hunter has also lectured and taught at Marymount Manhattan College and Publicolor.
