Hunter Gause is an American filmmaker who tells stories about art, misfits, and purpose.
His work has played at festivals and venues, including Palm Springs International ShortFest, Davey Fest, The Downtown Festival, The Roxy Cinema New York, and more. Hunter’s debut short film premiered in competition for Best U.S. Short at the 30th Palm Springs International ShortFest.
Before filmmaking, Hunter worked in the theater as an assistant with New York Theatre Workshop, The Wooster Group, Big Dance Theater, and The Tank.
Hunter holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Marymount Manhattan College and a Certificate in Film from NYU Yellowbrick. He’s crewed on sets for Gummy, Simone Films, and CBS.
Growing up in the Cheeseman Park neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, he found school difficult due to his severe dyslexia.
He also works in fashion content creation and has taught at the collegiate level.
