Hunter Gause

Hunter Gause is a Colorado-born and Brooklyn-based American filmmaker. As the son of a personal stylist and a sculptor, his work frequently explores misfits, purpose, and artistic labor.

Hunter’s first narrative short film, All the Words on the Page (2024), premiered in competition for Best U.S. Short at the 30th Palm Springs International ShortFest before screening at Pendance Film Festival, Fargo Film Festival, Davey Fest, The Downtown Festival, and The Roxy Cinema New York.

He’s assisted the production teams of Gummy FilmsSimone Films, and CBS.

Before filmmaking, Hunter was an assistant theater director at New York Theatre Workshop. He also collaborated with The Wooster Group and Big Dance Theater.

He’s worked in fashion content creation for local NYC brands and been a guest director at Marymount Manhattan College.

Hunter holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Marymount Manhattan College and a Certificate in Film from NYU Yellowbrick.
